Johnny meets Annie and sparks fly. It sparks much more! This is eroticism that brings fantasy to life. Not for the faint hearted. Yes, it’s a romantic story, a mixture of Catherine Cookson, Men Only and Bridget Jones. Yet, let me stress the Men Only part...don’t be fooled by it as a romantic comedy. The ending will amaze you. It was a complete surprise. I’m still thinking about his book.

Overall, the book is clever; a fantasy meditation on finding love, a book that leaves out neither the glory nor the limitations.

Kevin Wiseman.

Urgent and accessible; the simple elegance of Islands in the Sky works wonderfully well.

Clive Homerton

An insightful exploration of that elusive language of love with versatility, wit and precision. The references to chess provided an unusual and yes bizarre framework.

Michelle Gorming.

A beautiful, intensely erotic novel that determines the most inescapable fact of human existence in all its beauty and pain.

Victoria Small

Intricate detail, a burning intensity and aching intimacy, leaves an indelible impression.

As well told as it is intelligent, its humour is compelling.

A praise of passion; it will take you over...the book is unforgettable.

An ambitious work, at once a love story and a philosophical meditation understanding the mind games of life. A work that is consistently revelatory about the phenomenon of love.
